Rockville Villages

Welcome!
The Rockville Villages Advisory Committee first met in September 2014. We’re an ad hoc committee made up of people who are interested in aging in place in our homes, supporting and supported by our neighbors.
Our group consists of citizens of Rockville as well as professionals who provide senior services for the city, county, for-profit and nonprofit groups. We’ve met monthly since then, learning more about villages operating in our area, senior services available to Rockville residents and interest in aging-in-place among Rockville Seniors.

To date we've
-
Held two informational events on aging in place, resulting in several villages in planning stages in Rockville
-
Successful advocated for the City of Rockville to hire a dedicated Villages Facilitator. Interviews are now taking place for that position and we hope to see someone in place by January.
-
Created community of people interested in aging in place--both individuals and organizations that provide services to seniors.

In January we will meet to set our goals for 2017. Please join us and share your ideas!
